These yummy cookies are soft in the center and crispy on the edges with cinnamon and sugar in every bite!
They store and carry well and make a very large batch.
Perfect for a "Thank You" or a "Get Well" in a cute etched jar.
Here's the recipe...
Snickerdoodles

Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs, slightly beaten + (1 teaspoon vanilla, opt.)
2 3/4 cup flour
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons sugar + 2 teaspoons cinnamon (combine in a small bowl and set aside.)
Directions:
Cream butter, shortening and sugar together; add eggs and mix. Sift flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt together; add to creamed mixture and blend well. Shape dough by rounded teaspoon into balls. Roll balls in cinnamon/sugar mixture. Place on ungreased cookie sheet 2" apart. Flatten with bottom of glass dipped in sugar. Bake 8-10 minutes in preheated 400 degree oven. Makes about 6 dozen.
