Here's a yummy recipe for making homemade garlic butter...
We love to eat garlic bread with pretty much any type of meal. It can be expensive to purchase pre-made garlic bread in the store, so I like to make my own. I usually purchase the discounted loaves of french bread that are priced for less than $1.00. I store these loaves in the refrigerator or the freezer until I am ready to whip up a batch of garlic butter. I put together several loaves at once and then freeze each loaf in meal size servings.
Homemade garlic bread tastes so much better than store bought!
Here's the recipe...
Ingredients:
1 cup salted butter (softened)
6 cloves garlic (minced)
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
5-6 twists fresh ground pepper
Directions:
Combine all ingredients and spread over french bread. Broil bread until lightly browned and crispy.
Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteI make lots of compound butters and keep them in my freezer. It's so nice during the winter to pull them out and enjoy the fresh herb flavors. Thanks for the reminder! I would love for you to join me for this week's edition of What's On the Menu Wednesday. Mister Linky is up and ready for you.
ReplyDeleteHey there, just wanted to mention that I just used your pinto bean recipe to make homemade beans for the first time yesterday. They smelled wonderful, and I ate a bowl of them for lunch. Great recipe! Thanks a bunch.
ReplyDeleteDo we have to use salted butter? b I never buy the salted butter. Should I just add salt?
ReplyDeleteDannielleSB - I would recommend adding a little salt or even garlic salt if you use unsalted butter.

Thanks Alisa!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to try it! I've been trying to find a recipe similar to Applebee's garlic butter they use to put on their steaks.
