These yummy chocolate peanut butter bars are "krispy" & delicious!
These are super easy to make and don't require any baking.
They store well and are perfect for picnics and trips to the park!
Here's the recipe:
{Printable Version}
Ingredients:
1 cup white sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
1 1/2 cups creamy peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
1 1/2 cups butterscotch chips
1 tablespoon shortening
Directions:
Grease a 9x13 pan. Bring sugar and corn syrup to a rolling boil over medium heat. Remove from heat immediately and add peanut butter and vanilla. Stir until thoroughly incorporated. Add cereal, stirring to coat. Press mixture into greased pan. Melt chocolate and butterscotch chip in the microwave. Add shortening and stir until smooth. Spread over bars and chill until set. Store covered in a cool, dry place.
Enjoy!

Oh yes, definitely one of our family's favorite treats. :)
